Estimates, not professional advice
Every calculator on this site produces an estimate for planning. That is what they are for: helping you figure out how much paint to buy, how many tiles to order, how many bags of concrete you need. The math is based on standard industry figures and the measurements you enter.
These results are not professional advice and are not a substitute for a licensed contractor, architect, or engineer, especially for structural, electrical, or load-bearing work where a mistake can cause real harm. For anything where accuracy has safety consequences, get a professional opinion.
No guarantee of accuracy
I verify the constants I use (paint coverage, concrete bag yields, standard material sizes) against manufacturer specs and industry sources, and I explain them in the “How I calculate this” section on each page. Even so, real results vary with your surfaces, materials, and technique. I build in sensible buffers and tell you when I do, but I cannot guarantee your project lands exactly on the calculator’s figure. Sanity-check against your conditions, and when in doubt, order a little extra.

Better Courses is provided as is, free of charge, with no warranty that the calculators are error-free or fit for any particular purpose. Your use of the site and its tools is at your own risk.
