Estimates, not professional advice
Every calculator on this site produces an estimate for planning purposes. That’s what they’re designed for: helping you figure out how much paint to buy, how many tiles to order, how many bags of concrete you’ll need. The math is based on standard industry figures and the measurements you enter.
These results are not professional advice. They are not engineering calculations. They are not a substitute for consulting a licensed contractor, architect, engineer, or other qualified professional, especially for any structural, electrical, or load-bearing work where getting it wrong can cause real harm.
I build these tools so you can walk into a hardware store with a reasonable number. Use them for that. For anything where accuracy has safety consequences, get a professional opinion.
No guarantees on accuracy
I verify the constants I use (paint coverage rates, concrete bag yields, standard material sizes) against manufacturer specs and industry sources before I put them in a calculator. I explain which numbers I used and where they come from in the “How I calculate this” section on each page.
That said, real-world results vary. Coverage depends on your surface texture and how you apply paint. Concrete yield depends on how wet you mix it. Tile waste depends on how many cuts you make. I try to build in sensible buffers, and I tell you when I do, but I can’t guarantee your project will come in exactly on the calculator’s figure.
Always do a sanity check against your actual conditions before you buy, and when in doubt, order a little extra.
